Avalon Pier, in Kill Devil Hills on the Outer Banks, is one of the oldest and best-loved fishing piers by locals and visitors alike. Driving south from Kitty Hawk on the beach road, you will come into Kill Devil Hills and find the Avalon Fishing Pier. Built in 1962, it was the last wooden fishing pier built on the Outer Banks
